And yet, every project has a budget, and it's almost always tight. So how do you get major league drum tracks for minor league dollars? Now, with the assistance of leading edge technology, you can have Bobby Rock lay down top-flight, LIVE drum tracks for your project at a world class studio in LA, then have them sent directly to you via the Internet, anywhere in the world!
A Word From Bobby I love to play, and I live for the process of creating the perfect part for a given track and laying it down on the perfect set-up. Until recently, however, if a band or artist lived outside of LA, it has often been cost-prohibitive for them to hire me. If they come to LA, there's their airfare, hotels, per diems, studio costs, engineer rates, cartage/drum tech fees...and that's before we even get to my regular "LA rate." Worse yet, if they fly me to their city, it's even more expensive. Because in addition to many of the same above-mentioned expenses (like airfare, hotels, etc.), I unfortunately have to charge a premium since I'm away from LA, unable to take any other work for the time that I'm gone. But now, with the help of my partner-in-crime, Martin Blasick, technology makes it possible for me to lay down some Monster Drum Tracks just for you at very affordable rates, in a process that's ultra simple and efficient. Here's How It Works One of my favorite places to record in all of LA is over at Motion City Studios. This is producer/engineer Martin Blasick's studio in Santa Monica. It's a great sounding room and Martin is a world-class engineer. Martin was literally the first person I met when I moved to LA way back in '85, and since then, we've worked on a ton of projects through the years. In fact, I even have my primo recording drums set up over there full time, miked up and ready to roll. All I have to do is show up and we can start tracking in a moment's notice for any of a number of projects that might pop up. Which leads us to the ease of this entire Monster Drum Tracks process. Just e-mail us your MP3s and let Martin and I scope out your tracks. We then conference with you over the phone and discuss your vision: part ideas, drum sounds, vibe, direction, etc. From there, I swing by the studio and we start rolling takes. Once we're happy, we'll e-mail you an MP3 and get your immediate feedback. Real Time Interaction, Just Like You're in the Studio With Us! At this point, most of our clients are ecstatic about what they hear. Nonetheless, we're all ears: Would you like to hear a different snare or kick sound? Want to hear an alternate hi-hat part on the bridge? Would you prefer a more adventurous fill going into the out-chorus? Cool. Hang tight and, usually within minutes, we can e-mail you a revised MP3 version of the track. Can't decide? Love them both? No problem. We're happy to send you mutiple master takes of a track so you can edit them together as you wish. The Monster Drum Tracks System is VERY Cost-Effective...For All Involved With this system, we are able to deliver the goods straight to your computer at a fraction of what it might normally cost. Why? Because everything is in-house, turn-key and slotted in between other sessions. Plus, there are no travel expenses, no expensive cartage, tech or rental fees (because all my gear is already there) and no other hidden costs. In fact, we have sessions starting as low as $400 to $500, depending on a variety of factors. (Check out the Rates page for more info on pricing.) Let's Do It! Martin and I will look forward to talking to you about your project and how we can lay down some Monster Drum Tracks just for you.
